Tabitha is a super sweet Border Collie mix who is ready for her forever home. She is a lovely lady of a “certain age”, around 12 years old, she is a great weight at 38 pounds, and she has a pretty tri-colored coat. When she was first rescued Tabitha had a terrible skin infection, probably due to a never-treated flea dermatitis, but she is healing beautifully! Tabitha is crate-trained, housebroken, and she is just starting to learn a few basic obedience commands. She walks nicely on leash and she is a great passenger in the car.
Tabitha loves people, and she absolutely adores anyone who will notice her and give her a pet or two! She is a high Velcro girl, and when she’s not enjoying a peaceful nap, Tabitha is right by your side. Tabitha also enjoys the company of other dogs! She is not really playful though, she is what we refer to as a “peaceful co-exister”. Tabitha is a lower energy girl who is happy to live, nap and stroll with other dogs but she will not engage in play – that’s for youngsters!! Tabitha seems to ignore cats.
The ideal family for Tabitha has lots of love and room in their hearts for this very special lady. She has not had an easy life, but Tabitha’s sweet personality survived and she is the most loving, trusting and optimistic girl. A fenced yard is great but not required, another laidback doggie pal would be fine with her, and children in the home should be over the age of ten. And very importantly, Tabitha would love a home with lots of nice spots to nap during the day and get her beauty rest at night. If you are ready to spoil this little lady apply today! Tabitha is fostered in Alexandria, VA.
Tabitha's adoption donation is $300.
