Mattie is a very sweet, friendly Australian Shepherd who is available for adoption. She is about 10 years old, she is a great weight at 40 pounds, and she has a beautiful red tri coat and 2 different colored eyes. Mattie is housebroken and crate-trained, and because she is a “lady of a certain age”, she does require medication to control her leaky bladder. She knows a few basic obedience commands, she walks perfectly on leash and she is a wonderful passenger in the car.

Mattie loves people! She is a high Velcro girl who wants to be close to her humans at all times, but she will not get underfoot. Mattie also gets along great with other dogs!  Mattie is a medium energy girl who enjoys playing chase and fetch with her dog pals, going for walks and hikes, and when not running around she really enjoys hanging out with her human and a friendly dog pal or two.  She has also been known to “help” her foster mom with the yard work and serve as navigator when it is time for a car ride – she loves to ride!  Mattie is also great with cats! 

The ideal family for Mattie is easy-going, fun-loving, and ready to welcome a sweet dog into their home.  Mattie loves to be around people more than anything, and so her ideal family would have at least one family member who is home for much of the day.  A fenced yard is ideal, another easy-going dog would be fabulous (and cats!), and any children in the home should be at least 12 years old.
