Lacey is a cuddly, cute little Australian Shepherd who instantly melts your heart. She is 5 months old, weighs just 18 pounds, and has a soft red merle coat that is mostly white. Lacey is the product of merle-to-merle breeding and therefore has some special needs - she is deaf and while she can see, her vision is considered only functional. Lacey is just a puppy, and so while her crate training and potty training are not yet perfect, she is getting better every day. Her foster family is also teaching Lacey multiple hand signals for her basic obedience commands, and wow, she is one smart cookie! Lacey does ok on the leash, but like any young pup, she gets excited and will pull in the direction of anything that looks interesting or fun. She also loves car rides!
Lacey loves people and dogs of all ages. She is a high-Velcro little girl - wherever you go, she goes. She also loves following her dog pals around the yard. Lacey loves playing with other dogs and engaging in all the fun - chase, fetch, tug-o-war, you name it and she’s there! We would say Lacey is high energy- she plays hard and has a lot of energy, but when playtime is over, she is ready to cuddle in your lap. Lacey has not been cat tested.
The ideal home for Lacey is with a fun-filled, loving family who is ready to add a happy, spunky little girl to their world! A fenced yard is critical. Experience with dogs with special needs and another friendly dog in the family are both important, and children over the age of 12 are welcome. Lacey is just beginning to learn about the world, so she needs a family who has time for her, time to give her the training, support and love that she needs and deserves! If Lacey sounds like your new best friend, apply today! Lacey is fostered in Orange City, FL.
