Champ is a very sweet and happy Australian Shepherd mix who is back in our program through absolutely no fault of his own – his adopter had a serious family emergency and could not keep him after all. So Champ is again ready for his forever home! He is about 8 years old, he weighs 47 pounds, and he has a beautiful red tri coat and a full tail. Champ is housebroken, crate-trained and he is just learning his basic obedience commands. He walks nicely on leash (unless he sees a squirrel!) and he is a great passenger in the car.
Champ loves people! This medium-to-high Velcro guy LOVES to be close to his people, but he does not get underfoot. Champ also gets along great with other dogs, alternating periods of play with long time-outs for naps! When not playing with other dogs or napping, Champ loves to patrol the yard for any signs of squirrels, lizards or bugs that may have invaded his territory! He also chases cats.
The ideal family for Champ is fun, easy-going, and ready for a happy addition to their “pack”. A fenced yard is required, another playful dog would be great, children over the age of 10 are welcome, but please – no cats! Champ is such a wonderful guy who is so deserving of a new great life. If you can picture Champ in your family, apply today! Champ is fostered near Tampa, Fl.
Champ's adoption donation is $300.
