Daisy is a pretty, confident purebred Australian Shepherd who needs to find a new home. She is 6-7 years old, weighs 55 pounds, and she has a pretty red tri coat. Daisy is housebroken, she is learning to use a crate, and she knows several obedience commands. She walks nicely on leash and is a good passenger in the car!
Daisy loves her family but she is hesitant and alarm barks around strangers. She is friendly and calm around extended family and people she has met before, and a slow, patient introduction works well! Daisy is a high Velcro, lower energy girl who loves to cuddle and hike with her family. She also likes to “patrol” her yard, walking the fence line and watching for squirrels, birds and any stray humans. Daisy is fine around other dogs but she is usually not the one who initiates any play. She can be bossy around other dogs, not in a serious way, but she does best with dogs who ignore her when she starts to act like the “fun police”! Daisy also chases cats – part of her job when patrolling the home and yard.
The ideal home for Daisy is calm, quiet and laid back, shared with a family who is ready to welcome this young girl into their lives and home. A fenced yard is critical, an easy-going dog pal would be fine, and children should be over the age of 12. A family who loves to walk and hike would be amazing. Daisy also has chronic urinary incontinence that is well controlled with two generic medications, and she does not let this stop her! Daisy is really a sweet girl who has a lot to offer her perfect family. She currently lives in McLean, VA, and if you would like to learn more about her please contact email@example.com.
