Wilder is a handsome young Border Collie who is now available for adoption.  He is 1 year old, he weighs about 50 pounds, and he has a handsome red tri coat and a full tail.  Wilder is housebroken and crate-trained. He is very food motivated, and while he has just started to learn his basic obedience commands training using treats is going very well.  Wilder’s leash-walking skills are a work in progress and he is a great passenger in the car (he loves to look out the window!).

Wilder LOVES people, all people all the time!  He is a medium Velcro boy who wants to keep an eye on his humans but he does not get underfoot.  Wilder also gets along great with other dogs!  His current favorite dog pal is a young female, and she is a good match for his intense playstyle.  Overall, Wilder is a higher energy dog who loves to play with other dogs, splash around in the water (even a bucket of water is fun!), explore the yard, and once his leash manners are better his foster mom is sure that he would make a great jogging pal.  During the quiet parts of the day he is learning how to play with toys and he is always ready from some pets and head scratches.  Wilder has not been exposed to cats.

The ideal family for Wilder is active and ready for fun!  It is also important that his family continue his training - he had a hard start in his young life and he has some catching up to do.  A fenced yard is required, another playful, energetic dog would be fabulous (he does have an eye for the lady dogs!), and any children in the home should be at least 12 years old.  Wilder is an energetic young guy, and he will also do best in a home where he can really stretch his legs with some serious exercise a few times a day.  Wilder is such a deserving young dog who will bring his new family a lot of fun and love.  If you would like to learn about our adoption process and complete an application please visit our website, www.sohodogrescue.org.  Wilder is fostered in Grimesland, NC.
