Rookie is ready! He is ready for his forever home! This fun-loving, 5-year-old mini-Aussie is getting closer to his ideal weight of ~27 pounds (he was too thin), and he loves to have his gorgeous red-bi coat brushed. He has no tail. Rookie is housebroken, crate-trained, and knows some basic obedience commands. He walks very nicely on leash and rides fine in the car.
Rookie is a VERY Velcro guy who adores people, although he is a bit reserved when he first meets someone new. He can’t get close enough! He loves to play with people, hang out with people, walk with people; he is a real people-lover. He also enjoys playing with other dogs and he has a preference for the “ladies”. And when there are no people or dogs to play with, he is happy to quietly play with his toys. He has not been cat-tested.
The ideal home for this little Rookie is a home with people who are looking for a true best friend. His adopter should be dog-savvy, as he will periodically “test” his foster family just to see how much he can get away with! A fenced yard is important as he does like to go on patrol, another playful dog would be great (especially a female!), and because he still is a bit of a jumper, children should be over the age of 12. We think that Rookie’s focus on people would make him an “A” student in an obedience class. If you are looking for a smart, affectionate little Rookie, apply today! Rookie is fostered in Cordele, GA.
Rookie's adoption donation is $275.
