Walter is a love of a dog who is ready for adoption! He is an Australian Shepherd mix, just 18 months old and he is a great weight at 46 pounds. He has the most interesting merled coat with lots of white and a full tail. Walter is housebroken, crate-trained (but not an enthusiast), and he is learning his basic obedience commands. Walter walks pretty well on leash and is getting more comfortable riding in a car.
Walter loves people. He is a high-Velcro, social guy who loves to do whatever his humans are doing – walk, hike, play fetch, whatever is happening! Walter can be a little too Velcro when his foster family eats, as he is convinced that their food should be his food, but he is learning! Walter also absolutely loves to play with other dogs, and playing chase and wrestling are his favorite dog games. He is a medium-to-high energy boy with an “off switch”; when playtime is over he loves to snuggle and if no laps are available he will quietly chew on his favorite dog bone. Walter is not good with cats.
The ideal home for Walter is an active one, ready to welcome a happy, friendly dog into their home. This higher energy guy would love a fenced yard and another playful dog close to his size – he is quite the dog-wrestler! He would also do well with a family who loves to hike and play, and who will continue his training to be an all-around great dog. Walter still jumps on people when he is happy to see them, so children should be at least 12, and unfortunately, he cannot share a home with cats. Walter is so smart, so happy and so ready for his forever home. If you are ready for Walter apply today! Walter is fostered in Atlanta, GA.
Walter's adoption donation is $275.
