Rocky is a little pistol of a Border Collie mix who is ready for his forever home. He is a great weight at just 30 pounds, and age? – he is 10 going on 4! It is so hard to believe that this little guy is really 10, but his microchip does not lie! Rocky is housebroken, crate-trained and knows several basic obedience commands. He loves to ride in the car and walks very nicely on leash.
Rocky loves people, although he is shy when he first meets someone new. He is a high Velcro boy who is immediately drawn to women but he warms up nicely to men, and all humans become his best friends! Rocky also loves to play with other dogs but he sometimes grumbles while he plays, which can be confusing for other dogs until they learn to “speak Rocky”. Rocky is a medium energy guy who loves to play ball, go for walks, learn new things and play with puzzle toys. He has not been cat-tested.
The ideal family for Rocky is an active one, with people who will take him for walks and hikes and expose him to all that his world can offer. Another confident and playful dog would be great, a fenced yard would be ideal, and children over the age of 12 would be welcome. Rocky was turned in to his local shelter covered with fleas and he had a large open abscess on his side. He is now completely healthy and ready to live the rest of his life in a home full of fun and love. Maybe yours? Apply today! Rocky is fostered near Raleigh, NC.
Rocky's adoption donation is $275.
