Meet Pippa (again)!
Are you looking for a constant companion? The Laverne to your Shirley, the mac to your cheese, your ride or die? Then look no further because Pippa is your lady!
Pippa is a 5 year old spayed female cattle dog who is about 40lbs. She is your typical female cattle dog, sassy, sweet and “go go go” all the time! Pippa wants to be velcroed to you as much as possible! She is a high energy girl that wants to be doing something all day and then cuddle up on the couch with you to watch some Netflix - nothing could be better.
Pippa currently lives with a variety of dogs ranging from small Chihuahuas to to other heelers. Though she’s doing great, she would do best in a home with either one other dog or as the only dog. Pippa loves getting all the attention and was an only dog for most of her life so because of this she is still learning how to communicate and play with other dogs. Her best friend, besides her foster mom, is a young cattle dog that is teaching her how to play!
Pippa LOVES to play fetch and will play all day if you let her but is not a fan of sharing her toys with others all the time, but she’s working on her sharing skills. Pippa will need a fenced in yard so she can run till her hearts content! She is a smart girl and knows sit, down, come and she is working on “wait”. Pippa is learning excellent leash manners too!
You might recognize Pippa from an earlier post when a vet suggested that she has glaucoma. Fortunately, through extensive testing and specialist visits, Pippa DOES NOT have glaucoma! She may have a condition called PRA. This means that she *may* lose her vision completely (but it’s not a sure thing). This condition is very dog dependent and Pippa’s case is not severe, and we have caught it early. She does not have any vision issues right now; she will simply need to see an eye specialist once a year to check her progression and will need to take a daily eye supplement that is not expensive or time consuming to give her - just like a daily vitamin dose. Pippa is up to date on all her vaccines and is on flea and tick and heartworm prevention.
