Oliver is an energetic and fun-loving Australian Shepherd who is available for adoption.  He is 2 years old, he weighs 36 pounds, and he has a gorgeous blue merle coat.  Oliver is housebroken, crate trained, and he knows some of his basic obedience commands.  He is very treat motivated which makes his training session enjoyable for all, and he is a quick learner!  Oliver does great in the car and he loves to look out the window.  His leash manners are still a work in progress (but improving!) as he will pull when he sees something that catches his interest.

Oliver loves people!  He is a high Velcro boy who always wants to be close to his foster family.  He is a great “buddy dog”, an energetic boy with a nice off switch.  He loves to go adventuring with his foster family, race around the yard, go for a run, play with his toys and learn new tricks, and when all the play and exercise is done this little buddy is happy to settle in for some snuggle time.  Although Oliver enjoys playing with other dogs, other dogs really don’t like to play with him.  He has a rough play style and does not take cues from the other dogs. Oliver also has a high prey drive, so to be safe, he would do best in a home without a cat.

The ideal family for Oliver is active and ready to have a young, intelligent Australian Shepherd join them in all of their adventures, exercise, and fun!  Oliver will be at his best with an experienced dog family who can keep him mentally and physically stimulated as well as continue his training.  A fenced yard is required for this energetic guy and any children in the home should be over the age of 12.  Oliver will also do best in a single dog household.  If this handsome boy is making your heart smile, you can learn more about our adoption process and complete an application at www.sohodogrescue.org.  Oliver is fostered in Lutz, FL.
