Nash is a very handsome, young purebred Border Collie who is ready for his forever home. He is just under a year old, a great weight at 38 pounds, and he has a gorgeous black tri coat and full tail. Nash is housebroken, crate-trained, knows some basic obedience commands and he rides nicely in the car when he is not trying to “chase” the cars driving in the opposite direction! Nash does need work walking on the leash. He will try to chase cars, race to greet other dogs or chase the random cat or squirrel, and you have to be ready for his pull in that direction.
Nash loves people. He is a medium Velcro dog who wants to be with you but does not have to be underfoot – hanging out in the same room, watching TV or getting belly scratches, is fine with him! Nash has not had a lot of opportunities to meet other dogs, and while he really enjoys playing with other dogs he is still learning how to properly greet them – crazy excited yelping is not the answer! Nash is a medium-to-high energy dog with an “off switch”, who loves to walk, hike, explore, play ball, play tug-of-war, play with toys and play chase, and then nap.
The ideal home for Nash is active and fun, with plenty of time for this friendly, energetic young guy. A fenced yard and another happy young dog are important, children over the age of 12 are fine, but cats would not appreciate meeting Nash in their home! It is also important that his family continue his training – he has so much potential and we know that he is and will be an amazing dog. If you can see Nash in your home, as part of your family, apply today! Nash is fostered in Clarksville, TN.
