Maddie is a very sweet and happy Border Collie who is ready for her forever home! She is 6 years old, a great weight at 40 pounds, and she has a very nice black and white coat with a full tail. Maddie is housebroken, crate-trained and she knows her basic obedience commands. She walks very nicely on leash and loves to ride in the car.
Maddie loves people! She has never met a stranger, male or female. This medium-to-high Velcro girl loves to stay close to her humans, and she particularly loves playing ball (soccer anyone?), fetch and water games. Maddie also loves her squeaky toys, and of course she is always ready for some pets and belly rubs. Maddie is OK with other dogs and she really prefers the males! She is not really playful with other dogs as she is more of a “peaceful coexister”. She will hang out with them, walk with them, but will not engage directly – humans are the center of her play world. Maddie has a higher prey drive and will chase cats, squirrels, chipmunks, anything small that moves!
The ideal family for Maddie is active, ready for fun, and previous herding dog experience would be great. A fenced yard is important, another “peaceful coexister” dog would be fine with her (especially if a male!), and children should be over the age of 12. Maddie is ready for her second chance at a great life, and if she sounds like the dog for you apply today! Maddie is fostered in East Stroudsburg, PA.
Maddie's adoption donation is $300.
