Breed: Australian Shepherd
Gets along with: people, dogs
Location: Wesley Chapel, FL
Billy Boy is a very handsome Australian Shepherd who is now available for adoption. He is 4-5 years old, he weighs 53 pounds, and he has a soft red and white coat and two sparkling blue eyes. Billy Boy is housebroken, crate-trained and he knows just a few obedience commands – he is very food motivated which is helping with his training! While walking, Billy Boy will pull on the leash if something makes him nervous, but he is improving every day. He sits nicely in the car and he is starting to enjoy his car rides.
Billy Boy is a very shy dog, and it has taken a few weeks for his foster family to gain his confidence enough that he can actually be a loving part of the family. But what a wonderful change! Billy Boy is a high Velcro boy who loves to be with his people – he loves to get cuddles on the couch, hang out in the yard with his family, patrol for squirrels, sit for treats and even do a “zoomie” or two around the yard in the morning. Billy Boy is not a high energy guy though - he was born for pets and cuddles, not athletics! Billy Boy is fine around other dogs but he definitely prefers calm, small dogs vs large playful ones. He has not been exposed to cats.
The ideal family for Billy Boy sees what we see – a gentle, shy young boy who has not had a lot of love and attention in his previous life. His new family is also calm, easygoing, and looking for a best friend who can quietly slip into their lives. A fenced yard is required, another easy-going, low-key dog is welcome but not required, and any children in the home should be older as he still startles easily. Billy Boy is so deserving of a great chance at his best life, and if you would like to learn more about our adoption process and complete an application, please visit our website, www.sohodogrescue.org. Billy Boy is fostered in Wesley Chapel, FL.
Billy Boy's adoption donation is $300.
