Archie is a handsome young Australian Shepherd who is available for adoption.  He is about 18 months old, he weighs 50 pounds, and he has a soft black tri coat and lots of freckles on his nose!  Archie is housebroken, crate-trained (but not an enthusiast), and he is just starting to learn his basic obedience commands.  He has wonderful leash-walking manners, and he is a great passenger in the car.

Archie absolutely loves people – there are no strangers in his world!  He is a medium Velcro boy who mostly stays close to his foster family, but he is fine being a bit separated as long as he can see them.  Archie also loves other dogs.  He is a medium energy dog with a wide-open play style.  Archie loves to wrestle and run with his dog pals, go for walks with his family and chase squirrels around the yard.  He will even play ball by himself – he will toss it and then chase it!  And when all the play is done Archie is ready for some quality snuggle time with his family.  Although Archie chases squirrels he gets along just fine with the family cat.

The ideal family for Archie is active, fun-loving and ready to add this happy guy to their family.  It is also important that his adopters be committed to continuing his training – he is doing so well!  A fenced yard is required, another playful dog about his size is important, and any children in the home should be at least 12 years old (he stills jumps a bit when he gets excited!).  Archie is going to make someone an amazing best friend, and if you would like to learn about our adoption process and complete an application please visit our website, www.sohodogrescue.org.  Archie is fostered in Decatur, GA.
