Jackson is a handsome young Australian Shepherd who is available for adoption. He is 1 year old, he weighs 50 pounds, and he has a very nice blue merle coat and a full tail. Jackson is housebroken, crate-trained, and he is just starting to learn his basic obedience commands (he is smart and food-motivated which makes training easy!). He walks nicely on leash and he is a quiet passenger in the car.
Jackson adores people! He can be a little shy when he first meets a new person, but once he is comfortable this high Velcro guy wants to be close by without getting underfoot. Jackson also loves other dogs! We describe Jackson as a medium energy dog with a nice off switch. He loves to play, run and wrestle with his dog pals, play and go for walks with his people, patrol the yard to keep out the lizards and squirrels, and when it is time to relax he is ready for belly rubs and snuggle time on the couch. Jackson has not been exposed to cats.
The ideal family for Jackson is ready to laugh, to play, and to get lots of doggie kisses! A fenced yard is required, a playful dog pal would be ideal, and any children in the home should be at least 12 years old. It is also important that Jackson’s new family is committed to continuing his training – this smart young dog has potential!
