Gracie is a seriously fun girl who is ready for a seriously fun home! This Border Collie mix is about 1 ½ years old and weighs 40 pounds – a great weight! She has the most interesting grayish-brown coat with brindling on her legs. Gracie is housebroken, crate-trained and knows all the basic obedience commands. She loves riding in the car, and her leash-walking skills are not the greatest but they are improving every day.
Gracie loves people of all ages, although she jumps when excited so she may not be the best dog for a home with very small children. She is very loving, outgoing and friendly, and loves to snuggle and get belly rubs. Gracie also loves to play with other dogs – wrestle, tug, chase, toys, everything is fun! She can be a bit wild with her play style, especially when she first meets a new dog. She does settle down and she is very good about taking her cues from the other dog, but her style is more “rough and tumble” than “dainty”. She is a medium to high energy girl with an off switch – she loves an action-packed day with her humans and dog pals, and when she is tired she settles nicely on the sofa ready for some TV and belly rubs. Gracie is super smart and may be a good agility candidate! She does have a high prey drive and chases cats.
The ideal home for Gracie is an active one, with a family who is ready for daily fun, exercise and lots of love! A fenced yard is required, another playful dog is important, and children over the age of 10 are welcome. Gracie cannot be in a home with cats. This young girl is so full of promise and is ready for her perfect family. If she sounds like your perfect match apply today! Gracie is fostered in Durham, NC.
