Dixie is a very loving and gentle Australian Shepherd mix who is available for adoption. She is about 7 years old, she is a great weight at 42 pounds, and she has a super-soft black and tan coat. Dixie is crate-trained, housebroken, and sweet as pie! She is also quickly learning the basic obedience commands. Dixie walks very nicely on a leash and she is a great passenger in the car.
Dixie loves people! She is a gentle, happy Velcro girl who loves everyone she meets. Dixie gets along great with other dogs too! She is not the playful type though. She is more of a peaceful coexister who is happy to walk with the neighborhood dog pack and sniff faces, but she is not a dog-wrestler! Dixie is a medium energy girl who LOVES to go for walks and hikes, and when walk-time is over she will happily curl up next to her foster mom for some TV watching, snuggling and belly rubs. Dixie has not been exposed to cats.
Dixie’s ideal family is patient, loving and able to spend a lot of quality time with this wonderful dog. A fenced yard is ideal but not required, another peaceful-coexister dog in the home is welcome but not required, and children in the home should be at least 10 years old.
